This kid needs a serious wake up call! Brutality is not part of college life!

Excerpts from the Article:

A University of Delaware student is behind bars after allegedly strangling a woman to unconsciousness and holding her captive in a Newark apartment for four hours before throwing her down a flight of stairs, police said.

The incident began around 4 a.m. Oct. 8 when 20-year-old Brandon Freyre and the victim were together at an apartment in the 100 block of East Main Street, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin, a spokesman for the Newark Police Department. Freyre and the woman knew each other, but police did not detail the nature of their relationship.

The two began arguing, and Freyre started damaging the woman’s belongings, Rubin said. As the argument escalated, Freyre allegedly assaulted the woman, sprayed paint in her eyes and threatened to kill her if she called police.

Rubin said Freyre “strangled her to unconsciousness” and then blocked the exit to the room to prevent her from leaving. After four hours, he threw her down a flight of stairs.

After that, the woman was able to flee. She later called police and was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Freyre, who is from Arnold, Md., was arrested at his Newark apartment and charged with second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault, strangulation, terroristic threatening, third-degree assault and criminal mischief. He was jailed after failing to post $38,100 cash bail.
